Hospital Indemnity quoting in AdvantaCRM lets you build and refine a quote without leaving the client profile.
You can start with a client's current Medicare Advantage plan and let AdvantaCRM build a starting quote around their out-of-pocket costs, build a quote manually from scratch, or compare matched options across multiple carriers.
Getting there
Open the client's profile and go to Ancillary Quotes → Hospital Indemnity.
AdvantaCRM will prefill the client information it already has on file when possible, including ZIP code, age, and gender. Review the information before starting the quote.
Choose how you want to quote
You don't have to build every Hospital Indemnity quote the same way.
Choose the option that fits what you're trying to accomplish:
Match current plan — use the client's current Medicare Advantage benefits to create a starting Hospital Indemnity quote designed to help offset their out-of-pocket costs.
Build a blank quote — start with the carrier's available benefits and configure the quote yourself.
Compare carriers — have AdvantaCRM build comparable starting quotes across available carriers using the same client needs.
Matching a quote to the client's Medicare Advantage plan
This is where Hospital Indemnity quoting in AdvantaCRM can save the most time.
When a client has Medicare Advantage coverage with benefit information available, AdvantaCRM can look at their plan's out-of-pocket costs and compare them against the benefits offered by the Hospital Indemnity carrier.
For example: If the client's Medicare Advantage plan has an inpatient hospital copay, ER copay, skilled nursing cost, or outpatient surgery cost, AdvantaCRM can use those amounts to build a starting Hospital Indemnity configuration.
Step 1 — Select the carrier
Choose the Hospital Indemnity company you want to quote.
Once a carrier is selected, AdvantaCRM loads the Hospital Benefit Periods that carrier actually offers.
Step 2 — Choose the Hospital Benefit Period
Select the benefit period you want to quote.
The available options depend on the carrier, so you may see different choices when switching between companies.
Step 3 — Build the matched quote
Click Build Matched Quote.
AdvantaCRM looks at the client's Medicare Advantage benefits, finds the Hospital Indemnity benefits that can be reasonably matched to them, and creates a starting quote for you.
You aren't locked into those selections. The matched quote is meant to give you a fast starting point.
Reading the matched quote
The quote shows the client's Medicare Advantage cost beside the Hospital Indemnity benefit you currently have selected.
For example:
Inpatient hospital
$325/day → $350/day
The status tells you how closely the Hospital Indemnity benefit offsets the Medicare Advantage amount:
Covered — the selected Hospital Indemnity benefit meets or exceeds the amount being compared.
Close — the benefit offsets most, but not all, of the amount.
Gap — a meaningful amount is still left uncovered.
The comparison is there to make the quote easier to understand. It does not mean the two plans cover services in exactly the same way.
Good to know: Hospital Indemnity benefits are cash benefits and may have their own limits, waiting periods, eligibility rules, and definitions. Always review the carrier's plan rules before presenting the final quote.
Refining the quote
The starting quote is completely adjustable.
Open any benefit to change the selected amount. AdvantaCRM shows the available options returned by the carrier along with the additional monthly premium for each selection.
Depending on the carrier, you may be able to adjust benefits such as:
Inpatient hospital
ER / Urgent care
Skilled nursing
Outpatient surgery
Ambulance
Diagnostic benefits
Cancer benefits
Wellness benefits
Other available riders
The total monthly premium updates as you make changes.
Viewing plan rules
Click Plan Rules beneath a benefit to see any carrier notes returned with the quote.
These may include limits such as the number of covered days, annual maximums, waiting periods, or other restrictions.
Building a quote from scratch
You don't have to use a Medicare Advantage plan at all.
Choose Build a blank quote when you simply want to quote a carrier and configure the benefits yourself.
Select:
The carrier.
The Hospital Benefit Period.
The base Hospital benefit.
Any additional riders or optional benefits you want to include.
There is no Medicare Advantage comparison in a blank quote.
This is useful when you already know what benefit structure you want or when there isn't a Medicare Advantage plan available to compare against.
Comparing carriers
Choose Compare carriers when you want to see how multiple carriers can address the same client needs.
Instead of manually rebuilding the same configuration with each company, AdvantaCRM creates matched starting options using the benefits available from each carrier.
Because carriers don't always offer identical benefits or benefit periods, the quotes may not match dollar-for-dollar. The goal is to give you comparable starting points that you can quickly review and refine.
Select the carrier you want to work with to open its full quote and adjust the benefits.
Saving a quote
When you have a configuration you want to keep, click Save Quote.
You can save up to 3 Hospital Indemnity quotes per client.
Saved quotes keep the benefits and pricing exactly as they were when you saved them.
Before presenting a quote
AdvantaCRM is designed to make Hospital Indemnity quoting faster and easier, but the automatically matched configuration should still be reviewed by the agent.
Before presenting the quote, confirm:
The benefit amounts you want.
Any optional riders.
The monthly premium.
Carrier-specific plan rules and limitations.
The MAPD comparison is intended to help identify potential gaps and provide a starting point. It is not a guarantee that a Hospital Indemnity benefit will cover a medical expense.
